On behalf of the Detroit Greek Independence Day Parade Committee, it is with great joy to announce the date for this year's annual parade.
The 21st Annual Detroit Greek Independence Day Parade will be held on Monroe Street in Historic Greektown Detroit on, Sunday, May 7, 2023, at 3:00 p.m.
We are honored to have ✝His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas and this year's Grand Marshall, Tony Manolias with us during our Hellenic weekend here in Detroit.
Finally, we would like to thank all of our past Detroit Greek Independence Day Parade Sponsors - we could not have done this without their continued support. If you would like to take the opportunity to sponsor this year's parade, please prepare your business ad and contact us at your earliest convenience for instructions on how to submit your ad information to appear in our colorful and unique parade book. We need the support and help from the Greek community to make each year's Detroit Greek Independence Day Parade very special!
Organizations, churches, and clubs are encouraged to build a float pulled by a vehicle. If you are interested in building a float, the Parade Committee will help by purchasing a float kit you and your members can use. All you need to do is have a trailer to build the float on and a vehicle with a hitch that can pull the float during the parade. We will have available space at a warehouse nearby for float storage if you are in need of a storage facility at no extra charge to you. Please contact us with any questions.
We are recruiting volunteers to drive blue vehicles during the parade. If you have a Jeep or other sports utility vehicle that can pull a float, WE NEED YOU!! Please contact the committee as soon as possible with your availability.
Honor Society Students who are looking to get volunteer hours in - LOOK NO FURTHER!! Please contact the parade committee at: [email protected] for a great opportunity to earn volunteer hours.
Please click the Meetings tab on this web site to see the dates and times of our next meetings leading up to the parade. Please start sending representatives from your churches, university HSA's, and clubs to our meetings. We always have a virtual option to join our meetings via computer or smart phone.
